Target Information
Cluster of differentiation 169 (CD169), also known as Sialoadhesin is a macrophage-restricted adhesion molecule of 185 kDa that mediates sialic acid-dependent binding to cells. Swine CD169 is an endocytic receptor that allows targeted delivery of toxins and antigens to macrophages. CD169 can contribute to the uptake and processing of sialylated pathogens as well as playing an important role in regulating inflammatory and autoimmune responses via recognition of self.
