Target Information
Porcine clathrin heavy chain (CHC) is a fundamental component of the clathrin-coated vesicles, which are essential in the process of receptor-mediated endocytosis in pigs. CHC, along with clathrin light chains, forms a polyhedral lattice that surrounds the vesicle, providing the structural framework necessary for the vesicle's assembly, cargo selection, and budding from the plasma membrane. This protein plays a critical role in the internalization of nutrients, signaling molecules, and the regulation of cell surface receptors. CHC is also involved in the trafficking of proteins within the cell, including the transport between the trans-Golgi network and endosomes.
