Target Information

Porcine O-GlcNAc transferase (OGT) is an enzyme that catalyzes the addition of N-acetylglucosamine (O-GlcNAc) to serine and threonine residues on target proteins, a post-translational modification known as O-GlcNAcylation. This modification is a dynamic and reversible process that plays a critical role in various cellular functions, including regulation of gene expression, protein stability, and cellular signaling pathways. OGT is involved in the control of numerous cellular processes, such as glucose metabolism, cell cycle progression, and stress response. It has been implicated in the regulation of transcription factors, nuclear pore proteins, and cytoskeletal elements, thereby influencing fundamental aspects of cell biology.
