Target Information
Porcine proteasome 26S subunit non-ATPase regulatory subunit 13 (PSMD13) is a component of the 26S proteasome, a critical cellular complex responsible for the ATP-dependent degradation of ubiquitinated proteins. This complex is essential for maintaining protein homeostasis by removing misfolded, damaged, or obsolete proteins, thereby impacting cell cycle progression, apoptosis, and DNA damage repair. PSMD13, as a non-ATPase subunit, forms part of the 19S regulatory particle that recognizes and binds to ubiquitylated substrates, facilitating their unfolding and translocation into the 20S core particle for degradation. The dysfunction of the proteasome, including PSMD13, can lead to the accumulation of toxic protein species and is implicated in various diseases, including cancer.
