Target Information
Porcine Rab GTPase-Binding Effector Protein 1 (RABEP1), also known as Rabex-5, is a guanine nucleotide exchange factor (GEF) that activates Rab5, a small GTPase involved in the regulation of early endosome fusion and vesicular trafficking in endocytic pathways. In pigs, RABEP1 plays a significant role in intracellular membrane trafficking and the modulation of signaling pathways, particularly those involved in neuronal differentiation and immune responses. RABEP1 has been implicated in the regulation of neurite outgrowth and NMDA receptor-mediated signaling activation in NGF-differentiated PC12 cells. It interacts with various proteins, including Rac1 and NMDA receptor subunits, to modulate cellular processes such as actin polymerization and cytoskeletal changes, which are essential for neuronal development and function.
