Target Information
Porcine tripartite motif-containing 40 (pTRIM40) is a member of the tripartite motif (TRIM) family of proteins, which are characterized by the presence of a RING finger, B-box, and coiled-coil domain. pTRIM40 plays a role in a variety of cellular processes, including regulation of gene expression, protein ubiquitination, and modulation of immune responses. This protein is involved in the innate immune system, where it contributes to the antiviral response by targeting specific viral components for degradation. pTRIM40 may also participate in the regulation of cell cycle progression and apoptosis, highlighting its importance in maintaining cellular homeostasis.
