Target Information
Cytochrome c is a small hemeprotein found loosely associated with the inner membrane of mitochondria. Cytochrome C is encoded by the CYCS gene in pigs. It is an integral membrane protein located in the mitochondrial intermembrane space. It acts as an electron transfer protein in the respiratory chain of oxidative phosphorylation, transferring an electron from the cytochrome bc1 complex to cytochrome c oxidase.
