Target Information
Immunoglobulin E (IgE), also known as reaginic antibody, is a type of antibody produced by the immune system in response to allergens, foreign substances perceived as harmful. While most antibodies help fight infections, IgE plays a specific role in allergic reactions. Immunoglobulin E (IgE) is specific for allergens. Measurement of IgE is a common practice in the study of allergy. It will increase the utility of porcine allergy models and provide an additional measure of type 2 immune response in pigs.
