Target Information

Chicken inhibin beta A (INHBA) is a subunit of the inhibin and activin protein complexes, which are members of the TGF-beta superfamily and play crucial roles in reproductive processes. Inhibin is a dimeric glycoprotein hormone composed of an alpha subunit and one of the beta subunits (beta A or beta B). Inhibin Beta A specifically forms inhibin A when combined with the alpha subunit. This protein is primarily expressed in the granulosa cells of ovarian follicles, where it regulates follicular development and hormone secretion. Inhibin A, formed by the beta A subunit, is involved in modulating the secretion of follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) from the pituitary gland, thereby influencing ovarian function and reproductive health.
