Target Information

Chicken tissue factor pathway inhibitor 2 (TFPI2) is a member of the serine protease inhibitor family and functions as a key regulator in the coagulation cascade. Predominantly expressed in the brain, TFPI2 is also found in other tissues and has been implicated in modulating the extrinsic pathway of the coagulation system. It acts by inhibiting the activity of factor Xa and factor VIIa, thereby reducing the generation of thrombin and subsequent fibrin formation.
