Target Information
Porcine forkhead box protein P3 (FOXP3) is a transcription factor essential for the development and function of regulatory T cells (Tregs), which play a critical role in maintaining immune homeostasis. FOXP3 acts as a master regulator of Treg cells, ensuring their suppressive activity and stability. It can function as both a transcriptional activator and repressor, interacting with other transcription factors and chromatin-modifying enzymes. In pigs, FOXP3 is expressed in CD4+ CD25+ T lymphocytes, a subset known for their regulatory functions.
