Target Information
Bovine C-C motif chemokine 3 (CCL3), also known as Macrophage Inflammatory Protein-1 alpha (MIP-1α), is a chemokine that belongs to the CC chemokine family. It is produced by activated monocytes, macrophages, and T cells and plays a significant role in the immune response by attracting various immune cells, including monocytes, T cells, NK cells, and dendritic cells, to the sites of inflammation or infection. In cattle, CCL3 is crucial for immune surveillance and the recruitment of immune cells during infection, contributing to the body's defense against pathogens. It is also implicated in the pathogenesis of diseases such as mastitis and respiratory infections by modulating leukocyte migration and activation.
