Target Information
Galectin 4 is encoded by the LGALS4 gene in cattle. Galectins are a family of beta-galactoside-binding proteins that play a role in modulating cell-cell and cell-matrix interactions. Galectins can exhibit various structural forms, such as dimeric, tandem, or chimera. Specifically, Gal-4 has a tandem structure, which means it contains at least two distinct carbohydrate-recognizing domains (CRDs) within a single polypeptide. As a result, it is considered to be intrinsically divalent.
