Target Information
Bovine calcium binding protein (CaBP) is a group of specialized proteins that have the ability to bind calcium ions (Ca²⁺), playing a pivotal role in calcium homeostasis, signal transduction, and cellular activities in cattle. These proteins are characterized by their high affinity and specificity for calcium, and they can undergo conformational changes upon binding, which is crucial for their function. They are involved in a myriad of biological processes such as muscle contraction, nerve transmission, and cell division. Notably, calcium-binding proteins like calmodulin and parvalbumin are well-known for their roles in regulating various enzymes and ion channels. Moreover, recent research has identified novel calcium-binding peptides from Bovine bone collagen hydrolysates, such as Glu-Tyr-Gly, which exhibit superior binding affinities to the calcium-sensing receptor (CaSR) and promote intestinal calcium absorption, suggesting their potential as natural calcium carriers with bioactivity.
Shipping and Storage
