Target Information

Canine podoplanin (PDPN) is a type I transmembrane sialoglycoprotein involved in cell migration and proliferation. It is highly expressed in various tissues, including lymphatic endothelial cells and renal podocytes. In canine tumors, PDPN overexpression is associated with malignancy and progression, making it a potential biomarker and therapeutic target. For example, in canine non-tonsillar squamous cell carcinoma (NTSCC), PDPN promotes cell proliferation, survival, and migration. Additionally, PDPN is involved in tumor-associated lymphangiogenesis and immune evasion, further highlighting its role in cancer progression.
