Target Information

Chicken neuropilin-1 (NRP1) is a transmembrane glycoprotein receptor involved in the development of the nervous and vascular systems. It binds to two types of ligands: Class 3 semaphorins, which regulate axon guidance and neuronal patterning during embryonic development; and members of the VEGF family, which promote endothelial cell migration and proliferation. NRP1 is widely expressed during chick embryonic development, particularly in the nervous and vascular systems, and is essential for maintaining normal neural and cardiovascular functions. Additionally, NRP1 regulates smooth muscle contractility and motility, especially in the gastrointestinal tract.
