Target Information
Equine ferritin light chain (LFn) is a component of the ferritin protein complex found in horses, which is essential for iron storage and homeostasis. Ferritin is composed of heavy chains (HFn) and light chains (LFn), with LFn playing a role in the nucleation of oxidized iron. It is part of the cellular defense mechanism against oxidative stress, as it helps to chelate and transform toxic Fe(II) into harmless Fe(III), which is then stored within the ferritin nanocage. This process is crucial for protecting cells from iron-mediated damage.
Shipping and Storage
This product is shipped with dry ice. It is recommended to aliquot as needed and store at -80°C upon receipt. Reconstituted protein solution can be stored at 4°C for 1 week, at < -80°C for 12 months. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing.
Documents
The product is for research use only.
Not for commercial, prophylactic, diagnostic, or therapeutic applications.
User Note
- Always centrifuge tubes before opening. Avoid mixing by vortexing or pipetting. Reconstitute in 10mM PBS (pH7.4) to a concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/mL. Aliquot the reconstituted solution to minimise freeze-thaw cycles.
