Target Information
Feline enteric coronavirus non-structural protein 7b (NSP7b) is an accessory protein encoded by the FCoV genome. Although its exact function remains unclear, it is believed to play a role in viral replication and pathogenesis. Studies suggest that NSP7b may contribute to the virulence of feline coronaviruses, particularly in the development of feline infectious peritonitis (FIP) . In veterinary medicine, understanding the role of NSP7b helps in elucidating the genetic diversity and pathogenic mechanisms of FCoV. It is also a potential target for diagnostic assays and antiviral strategies aimed at controlling FIP in cats.
