Target Information

Toxoplasma gondii is a parasitic protozoan, specifically an apicomplexan, responsible for causing toxoplasmosis. This parasite is found globally and can infect nearly all warm-blooded animals, though felids are the only definitive hosts where T. gondii can undergo sexual reproduction. Studies have demonstrated that recombinant SAG1 is effective for use in diagnostic systems to detect anti-SAG1-specific IgG and IgM antibodies.
