Target Information

H5N6 is a subtype of the Influenza A virus, commonly referred to as bird flu. Infected birds excrete the virus through their saliva, mucus, and feces. Hemagglutinin (HA) and neuraminidase (NA) are two essential surface glycoproteins of the influenza virus. In the highly pathogenic avian influenza virus subtype H5N6, the HA is categorized into Major/H5 and Minor/H5, while the NA is differentiated into short-stalk and full-length stalk variants.
