Target Information

Cytotoxicity-associated immunodominant antigen (CagA) is a major antigen in Helicobacter pylori, associated with cytotoxicity and duodenal ulcers. CagA is a hydrophilic, surface-exposed protein with a molecular weight of 128kDa, produced by most clinical isolates. CagA is closely related to the pathogenicity and cancer risk of the bacteria, and can elicit an immune response from the host.
