Target Information

The Lake victoria marburgvirus envelope glycoprotein (GP) is a key viral protein that can infect humans and non-human primates. In the veterinary field, the GP protein is responsible for binding to host cells and facilitating membrane fusion, which is the main pathway for viral entry. Additionally, GP is an important target for vaccine development, inducing neutralizing antibodies in the host to provide immune protection. It is also used in the development of diagnostic reagents to detect Marburg virus infections.
