Target Information

Bovine Apolipoprotein C-II is encoded by the APOC2 gene in cattle. Apo-CII is secreted into plasma, where it becomes a component of very low-density lipoproteins (VLDLs) and chylomicrons. It plays a crucial role in lipid metabolism and lipoprotein transport. Specifically, Apo-CII is an activator of lipoprotein lipase (LPL), an enzyme that hydrolyzes triglycerides in circulating lipoproteins. It plays a positive role in bovine lipogenesis.
