Dengue fever is marked by symptoms such as severe headache, mild fever, rashes, muscle and joint pain, nausea, and vomiting. While it mainly impacts non-human primates, infections have also been reported in pigs, marsupials, bats, birds, horses, bovids, rodents, and dogs. Dengue virus type 1 (DENV-1) is one of the four serotypes of the arthropod-borne viruses (arboviruses) responsible for causing Dengue.
