Target Information

Bovine IgG light chain is a component of the immunoglobulin G (IgG) molecule in cattle, which is crucial for the immune response. IgG is composed of two identical light chains (approximately 23kDa each) and two identical heavy chains (around 53kDa), forming the basic structure of antibodies. The light chains, which include both kappa and lambda types, consist of a variable region (VL) that determines immunological specificity and a constant region (CL). These light chains are linked to the heavy chains by a disulfide bond, and the two heavy chains are connected by disulfide bonds near a hinge region, providing the flexibility needed for antibody-antigen interactions. The light chains play a significant role in the antigen-binding sites of the antibodies, which are essential for immune recognition and response.
