Target Information
Bovine TNF receptor superfamily member 5 (TNFRSF5), also known as CD40, is a critical receptor involved in immune cell activation and signaling. It plays a significant role in the activation of B cells and T cells, particularly in the context of antigen presentation and immune response modulation. TNFRSF5 is a member of the tumor necrosis factor receptor superfamily and is expressed on the surface of B cells, macrophages, and dendritic cells. When bound to its ligand, CD40 ligand (CD154), TNFRSF5 triggers a cascade of intracellular signaling pathways, including NF-κB and MAPK, which are essential for B cell proliferation, differentiation, and antibody production.
