Target Information
Bovine alpha-1-B glycoprotein, also known as bovine AGP, is an acute phase protein that is a member of the lipocalin family, which is involved in the binding, transportation, or sequestration of small hydrophobic molecules. It is primarily synthesized in the liver but can also be produced in other tissues such as mammary glands, salivary glands, and spleen. This glycoprotein plays a significant role in immune modulation and inflammation response, and its concentration can increase significantly during systemic infection or injury. Bovine AGP is a major carrier protein for basic drugs in the bloodstream and influences the pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics of various endogenous and exogenous neutral and basic ligands.
