Target Information
Canine annexin III (ANXA3) is a member of the annexin family of proteins, known for their calcium-dependent phospholipid binding properties. This protein functions as an inhibitor of phospholipase A2 and possesses anti-coagulant properties. It is also involved in the cleavage of the cyclic bond of inositol 1,2-cyclic phosphate to form inositol 1-phosphate, indicating its role in cellular signaling and membrane dynamics. In dogs, Annexin III may play a similar role as it does in other species, being involved in the maintenance of cell membrane integrity and participating in the resolution of inflammation.
