Target Information
Porcine regulator of G-protein signaling 4 (pRGS4) is a member of the regulator of G-protein signaling (RGS) protein family, which are key modulators of G-protein coupled receptor (GPCR) signaling pathways. pRGS4 plays a critical role in the desensitization and termination of GPCR signaling, thereby ensuring proper cellular responses to various stimuli in pigs. This protein functions as a GTPase-activating protein (GAP) for Gα subunits, accelerating the hydrolysis of GTP to GDP, which in turn inactivates the G protein and its downstream signaling cascade. pRGS4 is involved in the regulation of a variety of physiological processes, including immune responses, cell migration, and differentiation.
