Target Information
Canine IDH3A, or isocitrate dehydrogenase 3 (NAD+) alpha subunit, is a critical component of the IDH3 heterotetramer in the TCA cycle, catalyzing the oxidative decarboxylation of isocitrate to α-ketoglutarate (α-KG). This enzyme plays a significant role in cellular energy metabolism and is implicated in the regulation of cellular redox status. In the context of cancer, IDH3A has been identified as being upregulated in hepatocellular carcinoma tissues and is associated with tumor size and clinicopathologic stage, suggesting its potential involvement in malignant tumor progression. The identification of IDH3A as a potential therapeutic target for HCC highlights its importance in the pathogenesis of cancer and its role in cellular processes such as migration and invasion.
