Target Information
Porcine mediator complex subunit 30, also known as MED30, is a component of the Mediator complex, which is a large multi-subunit protein complex that plays a central role in the regulation of gene expression by RNA polymerase II. The Mediator complex acts as a bridge between transcriptional activators and the basal transcription machinery, modulating the efficiency of transcription initiation and elongation. MED30, as part of the head module of the Mediator complex, is involved in the assembly of the preinitiation complex and contributes to the regulation of transcription initiation. It interacts with other subunits within the Mediator complex, as well as with the general transcription factors and RNA polymerase II. The Mediator complex, including MED30, is essential for the integration of diverse regulatory signals to control gene expression in a context-specific manner.
