Target Information

Canine RAS oncogene family member D2, also known as KRAS, is a critical protein involved in cellular signaling pathways that regulate cell growth, differentiation, and survival. Mutations in RAS genes, including KRAS, are key oncogenic drivers in many cancers. KRAS, specifically, plays a distinct role in a tissue-type dependent manner, and oncogenic mutations in KRAS, such as Q61, are observed in various malignancies, including lung adenocarcinoma. These mutations lead to the hyperactivation of downstream signaling pathways like the RAF-MEK-ERK (MAPK) and PI3K-AKT cascades, promoting uncontrolled cell proliferation and survival, which are hallmarks of cancer.
