Target Information
Canine cadherin-16, also known as CDH16, is a member of the cadherin family of calcium-dependent cell adhesion proteins, which are crucial for tissue integrity and organization. In dogs, cadherins, including Cadherin-16, play a significant role in embryogenesis, tissue morphogenesis, and differentiation, as well as in carcinogenesis. Any dysfunction or destabilization of cadherin complexes can lead to tumor progression, and the downregulation of E-cadherin, a type of cadherin, is associated with increased tumor size, invasion grades, and lymph node metastasis in dogs.
