Target Information
Canine cytokeratin 14 (CK14) is a basal cell keratin that is predominantly expressed in the basal layer of stratified epithelia, playing a crucial role in maintaining the structural integrity of epithelial cells. It is often used as a marker for basal cell-derived neoplasms and is reactive in sebaceous and perianal gland tumors. CK14 is also significant in diagnostic pathology, helping to distinguish glandular from squamous differentiation in epithelial tumors. Its expression can change during tumorigenesis, making it a potential diagnostic marker for certain tumors.
