Target Information

Canine mucin 20, cell surface associated (cMUC20) is a membrane-bound mucin protein found in dogs, belonging to the family of glycoproteins known as mucins. Mucins play a critical role in the formation of mucus, which serves as a protective barrier on epithelial surfaces, aiding in lubrication, immune defense, and the maintenance of tissue integrity. cMUC20, in particular, is involved in cell signaling and cell adhesion processes, and it is often associated with the cell surface where it can participate in intercellular communication and regulation of cellular environments. Its expression pattern can be indicative of certain physiological conditions and disease states.
