Target Information

Porcine transmembrane protein 119 (pTMEM119) is an immunoglobulin-like membrane protein that is involved in the regulation of bone homeostasis in pigs. It is highly expressed in osteoclasts, the cells responsible for bone resorption, and plays a significant role in the immune system's interaction with bone tissue. pTMEM119 is implicated in the recognition of mechanical stress on bone and is thought to be involved in the osteocyte's response to these forces. It is believed to contribute to the maintenance of bone integrity by participating in the signaling pathways that regulate bone remodeling.
