Porcine Ras protein-specific guanine nucleotide-releasing factor 1 (RASGRF1) is a key regulatory protein involved in the activation of the Ras signaling pathway, which plays a crucial role in various cellular processes including growth, differentiation, and survival. In pigs, the RASGRF1 gene has been identified as an imprinted gene, with its expression pattern showing species- and tissue-specific variation. The porcine RASGRF1 mRNA is highly expressed in the brain, pituitary, and pancreas, with lower levels of expression in other tissues such as the longissimus dorsi, heart, and backfat. This gene is known to be maternally expressed in the liver and small intestine, paternally expressed in the lung, and biallelically expressed in various other tissues including the brain, heart, spleen, kidney, stomach, pancreas, backfat, testis, ovary, longissimus dorsi, and pituitary.
