Target Information
Porcine ADP-ribosylation factor 5 (ARF5) is a member of the ADP-ribosylation factor (ARF) family, which comprises small GTP-binding proteins that are vital for the regulation of intracellular membrane traffic, vesicle formation, and the actin cytoskeleton. ARF5, in particular, is involved in the control of vesicular transport from the Golgi apparatus to the plasma membrane, playing a critical role in the secretory pathway. As a molecular target, ARF5 is significant for its potential role in the modulation of cellular processes that are essential for maintaining cellular homeostasis. Its involvement in vesicular transport makes it a key player in the secretion of proteins and lipids, which are crucial for various physiological functions and pathological conditions.
