Target Information
Porcine developmentally regulated GTP binding protein 2 (pDRG2), also known as Dynamin 2 (DNM2), is a member of the dynamin family of large GTPases that are integral to cellular processes involving membrane dynamics. pDRG2 plays a crucial role in the regulation of endocytosis, the process by which cells internalize molecules from their external environment, and is particularly important during development and in maintaining cellular homeostasis. This protein is expressed in various tissues and is involved in the fission of vesicles from the plasma membrane, a process that requires the hydrolysis of GTP to GDP. pDRG2 is also implicated in the regulation of actin dynamics and microtubule interactions, which are essential for cellular motility and the establishment of cell polarity.
