Target Information

Canine Ral associated binding protein 1 (RALBP1) plays a significant role in receptor-mediated endocytosis and serves as a downstream effector of the small GTP-binding protein RAL. This protein is involved in the regulation of various cellular processes such as cell migration, apoptosis, transcription, proliferation, differentiation, and oncogenesis. RALBP1 interacts with the endocytic AP2 complex and EH domain proteins, which are crucial for the internalization of membrane proteins. Its function is also linked to the control of AMPA receptor endocytosis and long-term depression in synaptic plasticity, suggesting a role in neural signaling. Furthermore, RALBP1 has been implicated in cancer metastasis, with its expression levels correlating with tumorigenesis.
