Target Information

Porcine profilin 2 (PFN2), a member of the profilin family of actin-binding proteins, plays a critical role in the regulation of actin dynamics in pigs. Profilins are essential for various cellular processes, including cell motility, cytokinesis, and vesicle transport, by promoting the assembly of actin filaments and modulating their interactions with other cellular components. PFN2, in particular, is involved in the stabilization of actin filaments and the control of their elongation at the barbed ends. This protein interacts with multiple partners, including formins and capping proteins, to ensure the proper organization and function of the actin cytoskeleton.
