Target Information

Porcine prohibitin (pPHB), also known as BANP or PHB, is a highly conserved protein that plays a multifaceted role in cellular function. pPHB is primarily associated with the inner mitochondrial membrane, where it contributes to the maintenance of mitochondrial integrity and the regulation of cellular metabolism. This protein is implicated in several cellular processes, including the inhibition of DNA replication and cell proliferation, the regulation of mitochondrial dynamics, and the response to oxidative stress. pPHB has also been linked to the control of apoptosis, or programmed cell death, making it a significant factor in the balance between cell survival and cell death.
