Target Information
Tartrate-resistant acid phosphatase (TRAP), also known as acid phosphatase 5 (ACP5), is a glycosylated monomeric metalloprotein enzyme expressed in mammals. Tartrate-Resistant Acid Phosphatase Type 5 is encoded by the ACP5 gene in pigs. It has long been used as a histochemical marker of the osteoclast. It promotes the hydrolysis of a number of substrates, including nucleotides, aryl phosphates, and phosphoproteins.
