Target Information
Canine thyroid stimulating hormone beta (TSH-β) is a subunit of the thyroid stimulating hormone, which is a glycoprotein hormone secreted by the anterior pituitary gland. TSH-β, combined with the alpha subunit, forms the complete TSH that stimulates the thyroid gland to produce and release thyroid hormones, mainly thyroxine (T4) and triiodothyronine (T3). In dogs, TSH plays a critical role in regulating thyroid function, and measurement of canine TSH is valuable for diagnosing thyroid-related diseases.
