Target Information
Equine transferrin receptor protein 1 (TfR1), also known as CD71, is a transmembrane glycoprotein composed of two disulfide-linked monomers, each with a molecular weight of approximately 90 kDa. It plays a crucial role in cellular iron uptake by binding to transferrin and facilitating its endocytosis. TfR1 is highly expressed on the surface of rapidly dividing cells, making it an important marker for cell proliferation and a target for therapeutic interventions.
