Target Information

Porcine cathepsin A (CTSA) is a multifunctional enzyme belonging to the peptidase S10 family, with activities including deamidase, esterase, and carboxypeptidase. It is involved in the stabilization and activation of lysosomal enzymes such as beta-galactosidase and neuraminidase, which are crucial for the degradation of glycoproteins and glycolipids. CTSA is synthesized as a 54 kDa precursor and cleaved into 32 kDa and 20 kDa subunits linked by disulfide bonds.
