Target Information

Porcine glutathione S-transferase alpha 1 (pGSTA1) is a vital enzyme belonging to the glutathione S-transferase (GST) family, which plays a significant role in the detoxification processes and cellular defense mechanisms in pigs. This enzyme is involved in the biotransformation of a broad spectrum of endogenous and exogenous substances, including toxins, drugs, and carcinogens, by conjugating them with glutathione. pGSTA1 contributes to the protection against oxidative stress by neutralizing reactive oxygen species and peroxides, thus preserving cellular integrity and function. Its activity is essential for maintaining the balance of the intracellular redox environment, which is critical for the proper functioning of cells and tissues.
