Target Information
Bovine protein AMBP, also known as alpha-1-microglobulin/bikunin precursor (AMBP), is a protein that is part of the innate immune system in cattle. It is a precursor to two important components: Alpha-1-microglobulin, which is involved in the binding and transport of haptoglobin-hemoglobin complexes, and bikunin, a component of the urinary trypsin inhibitor. AMBP plays a role in immune response, inflammation regulation, and tissue remodeling. It is also associated with acute phase reactions and can be used as a biomarker for inflammation and tissue damage. The recombinant form of AMBP is used in research and diagnostic applications, such as in the development of ELISA kits and as a research tool in immunology and veterinary medicine.
