Target Information
Feline sarcoma virus tyrosine-protein kinase transforming protein fes (V-FES) is a viral oncogene product with tyrosine kinase activity that drives cellular transformation and oncogenesis. It is encoded by the feline sarcoma virus (FeSV) and is involved in the development of fibrosarcomas in cats. In veterinary medicine, V-FES is used to study the molecular mechanisms of FeSV-induced cancers and to develop diagnostic tools for detecting FeSV-associated tumors. Understanding its kinase activity and interaction with host cells helps in the development of targeted therapies to inhibit FeSV-induced oncogenesis.
