Target Information

Trypanosoma cruzis B13 antigen is an immunodominant protein found on the surface of trypomastigotes, which is the infective form of the parasite. It exhibits cross-reactivity with the human cardiac myosin heavy chain, suggesting a role in the development of pathology in Chagas disease. The B13 antigen is used in serodiagnosis and is considered a potential target for vaccine development due to its immunogenicity and involvement in host-parasite interactions.
